Managing Director
Background:
Jay is the Principal and Managing Director of QCOST Consultants. Jay is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and a Chartered Construction Manager. Jay specialises in construction cost estimating, expert witness and tax depreciation consultancy services.
Experience:
Jay has over twenty five years’ experience in Quantity Surveying, Estimating, Construction Cost Management and Asset Management. Jay has vast experience in residential, commercial, retail and infrastructure (road, rail, engineering services) sectors in Australia and overseas; and projects ranging from houses, townhouses and low-rise office buildings to high-rise residential and commercial towers, mega malls, large infrastructure and mixed use developments.
Professional:
Jay is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB). He is also a professional member of the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (AIQS) and the Tax Practitioners Board of Australia (TPB). In addition, Jay has successfully completed the necessary educational program in international arbitration to be eligible for Associate membership of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb).
Jay is also a trained professional competence assessor of the RICS.
Academic:
Jay graduated in 1993, with honours in Quantity Surveying. He also holds a post graduate diploma with Project Management specialisation and a masters degree in Business Administration (MBA) awarded by the University of Durham, UK.
Christine Jay BSc(QS Hons) MRICS AAIQS ICECA
Senior Associate
Background:
Christine is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor by profession. In addition to the quantity surveying and cost management responsibilities, Christine is responsible for Quality Assurance of our service delivery.
Experience:
Christine has twenty four years’ experience covering almost all the aspects of Quantity Surveying and Construction Cost Management, in Australia and overseas. Christine’s construction sector specialisation include residential, commercial, retail, energy and hospitality. She has specialist knowledge in star class hotel projects including “six star” rated hotels.
Christine is also an expert in Life Cycle Cost Assessment.
Professional:
Christine is a professional member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (AIQS). Christine has also successfully completed the necessary educational program in International Arbitration and become eligible for Associate membership of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb).
Academic:
Christine graduated in 1995, with honours in Quantity Surveying. Since then she has fine-tuned her expertise through a number of accredited specialist training programs.
